ARTIST STATEMENT

A collaboration with JAWS Architects, Flux Studios, T3D Studios and the Department of Health we set out to create a more harmonious environment for the staff tea rooms. Working with the staff from the Emergency Department at the Royal Hobart Hospital we integrated their artwork created during a series of workshops which we facilitated as part of mental health week. During the workshops staff were encouraged to play and find that internal space of trust and letting go. The workshops were split between line making and water colour creations. The mindful art practice is designed to enhance ones ability to let the unexpected happen, rest and reset.

T3D Studios and Flux Studios then set out to integrate the staffs contribution into their breakrooms with wall features, privacy screens, window decals and acoustic panels. The work is a truly collaborative space to enhance the wellbeing of the staff.

We thank the staff for their hard work and dedication to the people in the emergency ward.
